A.R.T. PRODUCTION UP FOR TOP AWARD

The American Repertory Theatre’s (A.R.T.) production of “Oliver Twist” has received the Best Production Award from the Bay Area Critics Circle for 2007. The production, directed by Neil Bartlett last season, toured to Berkeley Repertory Theatre following performances in Cambridge, Mass., and New York City.

The awards ceremony will be held in April in San Francisco.

LOCKWOOD, JUILLIARD STRING QUARTET TO EXPLORE BEETHOVEN

In anticipation of his soon-to-be-released volume “Inside Beethoven’s Quartets” (Harvard University Press, April 2008), Fanny Peabody Professor of Music Emeritus Lewis Lockwood will give a lecture accompanied by the Juilliard String Quartet on March 31 at 4:15 p.m. in John Knowles Paine Concert Hall. The book and accompanying recording focus on three of these profound and beautiful works of music. The event is free and open to the public.
