PBHA auction to benefit summer youth camps

The Phillips Brooks House Association (PBHA) will hold its third annual auction to benefit its Summer Urban Program on May 3 from 5:30 to 9 p.m. This festive event, to be held at the Phillips Brooks House in the Yard, will help make possible a dozen summer camps serving some 850 Greater Boston youth.

Running from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., the silent auction will feature more than 60 items up for bid and will be accompanied by hors d’oeuvres, an open bar, and jazz piano. The live auctioning of 10 items begins at 7:30 p.m.

Robert Lewis Jr., director of Boston Centers for Youth & Families, will handle auctioneer duties, with special performances by Livingston Taylor and the Harvard Krokodiloes.

Walk for AIDS gets helping hand from Harvard

The Office of Government, Community and Public Affairs will contribute 50 cents per kilometer walked or hour volunteered by Harvard affiliates participating in this summer’s AIDS Walk. This marks the 19th year that the office has contributed to the walk, which will be held June 4. Potential walkers, runners, and volunteers may call (617) 495-4955 for details.

HUCTW members eligible for child-care fellowships

Members of the Harvard Union of Clerical and Technical Workers (HUCTW) bargaining unit who have children are invited to apply for a HUCTW/Harvard Childcare Fellowship. To be eligible, the child or children must be under 14 years of age and in the care of a licensed child-care center, family provider, after-school program, summer camp, vacation camp, or in-home provider with a social security or tax ID number.
