Schlesinger to undergo renovation

1 min read

New hours announced

The Arthur and Elizabeth Schlesinger Library on the History of Women in America at the Radcliffe Institute for Advanced Study is preparing for major renovations in 2004 and will be closed to all users from Jan. 19 through Feb. 9, as part of that process.

During that time, library services will move from the Schlesinger Library to Agassiz House in Radcliffe Yard. Access to collections will resume on a limited basis beginning Feb. 10.

Users should note that since most of the library’s holdings will be in the Harvard Depository for the duration of the renovation project, advance notice will be required to access library materials. An interim reading room will be open, by appointment only, Tuesday through Thursday every week (with the exception of University holidays) from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Renovations are expected to be completed in late fall of 2004.

Library users should e-mail questions to slref@radcliffe.edu. Researchers planning to visit before Jan. 16 are asked to call the library at (617) 495-8540 to confirm the availability of manuscripts and books of research interest.
