Summer program to turn 13 years young
One of Harvard and Boston’s most appealing summer activities for adults and kids alike, The Tennis Camps at Harvard (TCH), will be starting its 13th season June 9 at the Beren Tennis Center at Soldier’s Field.
The camps are more popular than ever, with many sessions selling out early. TCH offered a $25 per session discount (subject to availability) if registrations were completed and submitted by Feb. 15 for junior sessions and a multiple-week discount as well. The Feb. 15 deadline will be extended to March 15 for registrants from the Harvard community who include their Harvard ID number on their registration forms. April 15 is the deadline for the adult early sign-up discount.
Kids are not the only ones who have a great time. TCH offers adult classes on weekday evenings and weekends for both recreational and elite players also from June 9 through Aug. 23. In addition, there are special offerings such as “play of the week” specialty clinics, and flexible league matches.
Looking for matches?
Director Dave Fish says, “People love to compete, but don’t have a lot of time to look for partners, so we’ve tailored a new program to give players of almost every level ways to match up with opponents of similar abilities – on their own schedule. We’re even adding a new late-evening option for night owls.”
The youth tennis camps are often wait-listed. They are offered for youngsters and teens from 4 to 17, beginning on June 9, and running through Aug. 23.
