1 min read

The Toynbee Prize Foundation will honor distinguished historian William H. McNeill at an award ceremony April 25 at the Harvard Faculty Club. Chartered in 1987, the foundation contributes to the development of the social sciences, as defined from a broad historical view of human society and of human and social problems. Among its activities, the foundation has awarded the Toynbee Prize for social scientists who have made significant academic and public contributions to humanity. As of this past fall, six Harvard faculty members served as Toynbee Prize Foundation Trustees.
