HPT hands over $10,000 for CPS arts education

As part of its annual effort to raise money for the promotion of arts education in Cambridge Public Schools (CPS), Hasty Pudding Theatricals (HPT) donated $10,000 at a Nov. 15 event held at the Amigos School. Since its inception in 2002, the HPT Fund for Cultural Enrichment has subsidized tickets for more than 4,000 Cambridge students to attend theatrical performances, cultural events, and museum exhibitions.

Superintendent Thomas Fowler-Finn of CPS and Elaine Koury, the director of Visual and Performing Arts for CPS, were both in attendance at the ceremony and spoke to the students. The event also featured members of HPT in drag who were welcomed to the stage for a number with the cast of Cambridge Rindge & Latin’s production of “Guy and Dolls.”
