Porter article selected McKinsey Award winner

Harvard Business Review has named Michael E. Porter, the Bishop William Lawrence University Professor at Harvard Business School, its first-place winner of the 2006 McKinsey Award for his article “Strategy and Society: The Link Between Competitive Advantage and Corporate Social Responsibility” (co-authored with Mark R. Kramer). The award recognizes the most significant article published each year in the magazine.

Published this past December, the article proposes a new way to view the relationship between business and society, allowing companies to make valuable contributions to social welfare without sacrificing corporate success.
