Daffodil Days, Harvard collect record amount

1 min read

Consistently one of New England’s top sellers for the American Cancer Society’s annual Daffodil Days fundraiser, this year Harvard even managed to outdo itself. In this latest edition of the benefit, members of the University helped raise $45,843 to better every Harvard effort since the fundraiser’s inaugural run in 1988.

Nearly 5,400 bouquets and 231 teddy bears were delivered on March 19 throughout Harvard (including more than 1,400 bouquets to local hospitals). The mighty effort eclipsed last year’s total by $7,571.

Harvard’s top three sellers included Harvard Law School staff member Maura Kelley, who raised $3,341; associate director for University Alumni Records Peter Conlin, who collected $3,333; and assistant director for Degree Programs at the Kennedy School of Government Martha Foley, who tallied up $3,014.
