Police reports
Following are some of the incidents reported to the Harvard University Police Department (HUPD) for the week ending March 19. The official log is located at 1033 Massachusetts Ave., sixth floor, and is available online at http://www.hupd.harvard.edu/.
March 15: Graffiti was reported on a wall at the Kresge Building. Harassing e-mail and text messages were reported received at the Pound Building. Officers observed an individual known to have a trespass warning for all Harvard property at the Pound Building. Officers stopped and ran the individual for warrants with negative results. The individual was then placed under arrest for trespassing.
March 16: In the area of 1619 Tremont St., officers pursued an individual on foot who had been observed punching another individual. Officers stopped the individual and notified the Boston Police Department (BPD). Upon arrival, BPD placed the individual under arrest.
March 17: An unattended gold ring was reported stolen from Agassiz Theatre. A sweatshirt and cell phone were reported stolen from Hemenway Gym.
March 18: Officers responded to a report of a window at North Hall that was intentionally broken by an unknown individual. Facilities Maintenance Operations (FMO) staff were notified and repaired the window. An officer was dispatched to a room at Conant Hall on a report of a door that was reportedly kicked open. The reporting individual stated that upon returning to their residence, the door’s lock had been broken. FMO staff were notified and fixed the lock.
March 19: Officers were dispatched to 1340 Massachusetts Ave. on a report of an assault. The reporting party stated that after confronting an individual who had attempted to steal money from another individual, the confronted individual pulled out a knife, threatened the reporting party, and fled the area. The Cambridge Police Department was notified and took over the call.
