League hands Hendricks player of the week

Harvard hurler Trey Hendricks ’04 has been named Ivy League Pitcher of the Week for his efforts in steering the Crimson to a 3-3-1 record since March 31, including a two-game sweep of league favorite Princeton this past Sunday (April 4). Hendricks gave up just two hits and one earned run in the second game of the doubleheader to help lift the Crimson (9-8-1, 3-1 Ivy) past the Tigers, 4-1. This past week, in 10 innings of work on the mound, he had 10 strikeouts, and held opponents to a .062 batting average.

At the plate, Hendricks set a new Harvard record by earning a hit in 22 consecutive games, while leading the Crimson in batting with a .457 average.

Crimson softball claims invite title

A big six-run inning proved more than enough to lift the Harvard softball team past Delaware State, 8-2, in the title game of the George Mason Invitational this past Sunday (April 4) in Fairfax, Va. Iona College placed third at the invite, ahead of host George Mason.

Basketball camp seeks young women athletes

The 2004 Kathy Delaney-Smith Basketball camp for girls between 8 and 18 years of age seeks b-ball campers for this summer’s session. The camp, which runs Aug. 2-5 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., costs $250.
