Harvard hockey stars win Olympic gold for Canada; Americans take silver

The Canadian Olympic women’s hockey team upset the favored U.S. squad for the gold medal in the Feb. 21 championship match. Harvard’s Tammy Shewchuk ’01 and Jennifer Botterill ’03 are members of the medal-winning Canadian squad. Three other Harvard players – A.J. Mleczko ’99, Angela Ruggerio ’04, and Julie Chu ’06 – are members of the U.S. team, who received silver medals for their efforts.
