Assault and battery at Academy of Arts and Sciences

On Friday, June 8, at approximately 4:50 a.m., an assault and battery was reported inside the entry gate to the Academy of Arts and Sciences at Bryant and Scott Streets. Suspect was on a small maroon-colored mountain bike and approached a female from behind. Suspect then pulled the victim, a graduate school student, into a small wooded area, stating “Come here, come here.” Victim screamed and suspect released her. Suspect fled on bicycle onto Scott Street, crossing Beacon Street, and continuing onto Park Street in Somerville.

The suspect is described as a black male, 20-25 years of age, 5’7”-5’10”, medium build, clean-shaven, with a rounded face. He was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt that covered his head, dark baggy pants, and white sneakers.
