FMO ready to recycle during move-out

1 min read

Thanks to the cooperative efforts of the University community and Harvard Facilities Maintenance Operations (FMO), a record 1,590 tons of paper have been recycled through the 2001 fiscal year. Now, with student move-out and Commencement just around the corner, FMO will be sponsoring several different efforts over the next few weeks to reduce the amount of reusable material that gets thrown out at this busy time of year.

From surplus furniture free for the hauling to zero-waste catering, FMO is holding a range of re-using and recycling drives. To accommodate student move-out, FMO will provide extra trash- and recycling trucks on campus over the weekends of May 26-28, June 2-3, and June 9-10. In addition, FMO can assist Harvard employees in donating extra furniture and equipment to the charity of their choice.
