While the University will not be officially closed during the holidays, administrative, professional, non-bargaining unit support staff, and Harvard Union of Clerical Technical Workers staff will have an extended holiday period in 2000. Normally, staff receives 1.5 days of holiday time off for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day and one day of holiday time off for New Year’s Day. This year, those employees listed above will receive a combination of holiday and paid personal time off resulting in six days off, Monday, Dec. 25 through Friday, Dec. 29, and Monday, Jan. 1, 2001.
Staff members in the categories above who are required to work on any of these days will be compensated accordingly and given other time off. Contact your supervisor or the Office of Employee and Labor Relations at (617) 495-2786 for more information.
If you are working during the holiday week, be sure to check to see if services you usually rely on will be available then.
The Benefits Office will be closed Dec. 25 – Jan. 1. Report any problems with health-care access to your health plan first. If trouble persists, call (617) 496-4001 and leave a message. This line will be checked daily from Dec. 26-29. Someone will get back to you.
