1 min read

The Harvard Ed Portal, located at 224 Western Ave. in Allston, and the Davis Center for Russian and Eurasian Studies are proud to present the latest Crossings Gallery exhibition Romance and Reality: Posters from the Russian Revolution. When the October Revolution overturned the longstanding Russian Empire 100 years ago, posters were particularly useful for getting messages and ideas across to a largely illiterate population. This exhibition explores the hope and passion of the Soviet Union’s early years, as well as the tensions inherent to building a new nation.

Exhibition is open to the public during the Ed Portal’s regular business hours (Mondayfrom Sept. 7 – Oct. 19, 2017.

Reception, Thursday, Sept. 28, 2017, 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Join us for a reception featuring a presentation by Terry Martin, George F. Baker III Professor of Russian Studies at Harvard University and former Director of the Davis Center for Russian and Eurasian Studies.
