Water polo felled by No. 20 Brown at Northeast Champs

The Harvard women’s water polo team dropped a 9-2 decision against top-ranked Brown in the title game of the Collegiate Water Polo Association’s Northeast Championships this past weekend (April 17-18) in Utica, N.Y. Earlier in the tourney, the Crimson convincingly rolled past Utica, 18-1; Marist, 15-1; and Connecticut College, 11-5. Harvard’s 3-1 showing in Utica left the team with a 19-12 record heading into this weekend’s (April 24-25) Eastern Champs at Bucknell.

Women’s golf lands best-ever finish at Ivy Champs

The Harvard women’s golf team shot a three-round score of 1,012 for a third-place finish at this past weekend’s Ivy League Golf Championships in Trenton, N.J. The Crimson’s total marks the program’s best showing since the tourney’s inaugural run in 1997. Frontrunners Princeton and Yale finished with 947 and 960 strokes, respectively.

Meredith Chiampa ’04 carded a three-round score of 248 (+32) to lead her team. She picked up three birdies over the weekend, including two in a row in the final round.
