HDS to co-sponsor ‘Celluloid Saints’

1 min read

The Boston Theological Institute will convene at the Brattle Theatre on Feb. 7 and 8 for the third annual Boston Faith and Film Festival. Sponsored by the institute, which counts the Harvard Divinity School (HDS) among its members, this year’s festival will screen films that stimulate discussion about the nature of holiness and saintliness. Among the films to be screened are Carl Theodor Dreyer’s “La Passion de Jeanne d’ Arc,” Spike Lee’s “Malcolm X,” and last year’s blockbuster “Amelie.”

Tickets are $8 per film ($6 for students) or $35 for full festival passes ($25 for students). A symposium exploring this year’s theme, “Celluloid Saints,” will be held on Feb. 9 at Episcopal Divinity School.
