January@GSAS offered more than 100 classes, seminars, and training sessions to students in Harvard’s Graduate School of Arts and Sciences during semester break. Students had the chance to escape the lab or library, and spend time exploring subjects that might not otherwise appear in a Harvard course catalog.

For the hundreds of students in Harvard’s Graduate School of Arts and Sciences, January offered a chance to let their hair down and explore topics they might otherwise never contemplate, from questions of race in Quentin Tarantino’s films to the production of nano-materials to fabricating a hand-crank generator.

In January, a learning smorgasbord
Graduate students and others will be able to take part in January @ GSAS, a series of more than 80 workshops, seminars, and classes on topics that range from how to write fellowship proposals, to using online citation tools when conducting research, to social events such as film screenings and tours of Harvard museums.
