Harry Parker memorial service set for Aug. 17

Morning row and service will be streamed online and in Yard

A memorial service for Harry Parker has been scheduled for Saturday (Aug. 17) beginning at 2 p.m. at the Memorial Church in Harvard Yard. Parker passed away June 25 at the age of 77. Parker served as the Thomas Bolles Head Coach for Harvard Men’s Heavyweight Crew for 51 seasons.

There will also be a row in Parker’s honor at 9 a.m. and an afternoon tea in the tradition of Henley at 3:30 p.m. Saturday. All events are open to the public.

The row and memorial service will be streamed online at GoCrimson.com/HarryParkerMemorial. The stream will also be shown on a projection screen at the Harvard Science Center, located just north of Harvard Yard.
