Portrait of a master

Pian was professor of East Asian languages and civilizations and of music at Harvard from 1974-92 and master of South House (now Cabot House) from 1975-78. She was the first minority House master at Harvard. The framed, oil on canvas portrait was painted by Stephen Coit ’72.
