Police reports

Following are some of the incidents reported to the Harvard University Police Department for the week ending Feb. 28. The official log is located at 1033 Massachusetts Ave., sixth floor.

Feb. 22: Officers were dispatched to the Cronkhite Graduate Center on a report of a theft in progress. Officers checked the area for a possible suspect with negative results. A report was filed for a stolen laptop. Cash was reported stolen from the Loeb Drama Center. A video camera was reported stolen at the Cronkhite Graduate Center. A wallet was reported stolen at Gund Hall. A bicycle was reported stolen at William James Hall. At JFK Park, officers conducted field interviews with suspicious individuals. One subject was taken into custody on an outstanding warrant.

Feb. 23: An officer was dispatched to Leverett House to take a report of an attempted breaking and entering. An officer was dispatched to 77 Avenue Louis Pasteur to take a report of possible misplaced items.

Feb. 24: Graffiti was reported on the side of Rockefeller Hall. A laptop was reported stolen at Jefferson Lab. A chemical spill was reported at the Seeley Mudd Building. The Boston Fire Department and the Department of Environmental Health and Safety responded. The area was secured until the cleanup was complete. An officer responded to Cambridge Hospital to assist the Massachusetts State Police in obtaining additional information for a student who had been struck by a motor vehicle.

Feb. 25: A briefcase was reported stolen at Longfellow Hall. Cash and camera equipment were reported stolen at Harvard College Fund. Laptop computers and personal items were reported stolen at Canaday Hall. A cell phone was reported stolen at 164 Longwood Ave. A checkbook was reported stolen at the Armenise Building. A check was then cashed fraudulently.

Feb. 26: Officers assisted the Cambridge Police Department in a search of Ware and Prescott streets for suspects in an alleged breaking and entering into a motor vehicle. Two vending machines in the basement at 24 Prescott St. were reported broken into. An officer was dispatched to 29 Garden St. to take a report of cash taken from a desk drawer. Officers were dispatched to Pierce Hall on a report of someone believed to have stolen a laptop being stopped. Officers took the subject into custody for daytime breaking and entering, larceny in a building, receiving stolen property over $250, trespassing, and for providing false information to police following arrest. The laptop was recovered.

Feb. 27: A drill was reported stolen at Dunster House. Laundry was reported stolen at 1 Western Ave.

Feb. 28: In the area of 240 Western Ave., officers assisted the Boston Police Department in the search of possible suspects involved in an armed robbery. Officers checked the area with negative results.

Six reports of harassment via the phone or e-mail have been reported since Feb. 22.
