Brendan P. McGrath Memorial Golf Outing set

The third annual Brendan P. McGrath Memorial Golf Outing – named in honor of the assistant director for University and Commercial Real Estate Leasing and Acquisitions who passed away in October 2000 – will be held at the award-winning Pembroke Country Club on June 20. An annual tribute to McGrath, this year’s outing will include a round of golf at 1 p.m., dinner, dancing, and an award ceremony.

Summer hoops at Harvard

Crimson Hoop Camp, a five-day basketball camp for boys and girls between grades three and 12, is offering two sessions this summer: Aug. 11-15 and Aug. 18-22. The cost of the camp, which runs from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., is $235 per week or $400 for both weeks. For more information, call (617) 782-9554.

Pops rehearsals to begin in June

Wind, brass, and percussion musicians interested in playing with the Harvard Summer Pops Band are invited to attend rehearsals from 7:15 to 9:30 p.m. each Wednesday from June 25 to July 23 in Lowell Hall. Directed by Tom Everett, the band will hold concerts July 30 at 4 p.m. in Harvard Yard, and Aug. 2 at 7 p.m. at the Hatch Shell. No auditions are required, and it is recommended that all players bring a folding music stand to rehearsals. For more information, call (617) 496-BAND.

Orchestra seeks players, to hold auditions

The Harvard Summer School Orchestra is holding open auditions June 24-26 from 5 to 9 p.m. in Lowell Hall (Rooms B12 and B13). Viola, bass, and brass musicians are especially encouraged to audition, which will consist of playing one prepared piece and some sight-reading. Directory artwork wanted

The Harvard Telephone Directory Project seeks faculty and staff artwork to be considered for the front cover of the 2003-04 faculty/staff telephone directory. All types of media are welcome, but the work must represent a Harvard environment or experience.

The selected artist will be acknowledged in next year’s directory, and will receive a $300 honorarium, as well as a framed copy of the cover. Submissions must be received by tomorrow (May 30).
