Community Advisory: Four Recent Street Robberies in Cambridge
On Feb. 22, Harvard Police received a report that an individual was robbed at gunpoint near Lowell House just after 8 p.m. The suspect reportedly took personal property and fled down the pathway between Lowell and the rear of Rosovsky, toward Plympton Street. Just over an hour later, another individual reported being robbed at gunpoint near McArthur Hall. The suspect reportedly took cash and fled down the East Drive of the Business School.
On Feb. 26, at 8:30 p.m., Cambridge Police received a report of an armed robbery at Harvard Street and Hancock Street. An undergraduate victim said he was walking down the street and was passing a group of five black males on one side of the street and five black males on his side of the street. One suspect from the group on his side of the street grabbed him and he was told to empty his pockets. A second suspect from this group showed a gun. The student gave the suspects his wallet and they all fled towards Harvard Square. The first suspect in this incident was described as a black male, 53″, wearing a hooded, blue puffy jacket with white lettering. The second suspect was described as a black male, wearing a black sweatshirt or sweater.
Around the same time, on Feb. 26, Cambridge Police report that a second robbery occurred on Dana Street. The victim was approached from behind by two suspects. A young black male put his arm around the victims throat and demanded money. The victim was able to get away. The two suspects fled to Harvard Street and to Harvard Square. The first suspect in this incident was described as a black male, 14 years of age, 510″, 160 pounds, with a skinny build, and wearing a navy hooded jacket and jeans. The second suspect described as a black male, 16 years of age, 61″, 175 pounds, with close cut hair and wearing a light-colored jacket.
