HILT calls for grant proposals

The Harvard Initiative for Learning and Teaching (HILT) has issued a call for Spark Grant applications. Roughly five awards ranging from $5,000 to $15,000 will be given to ideas that “spark” promising teaching and learning projects from idea to reality, and positions innovations for future success. Harvard faculty, students, and staff are encouraged to apply.

Although HILT welcomes any proposals that catalyze innovation around teaching and learning at Harvard, grant propsals that focus on the following are particularly encouraged:

  • multimedia and instructional technology development
  • communities of practice around teaching and learning
  • high-impact course renewal
  • assessment and educational research

Applications are due by July 22. Awards will be announced in early September with funding transferred shortly thereafter.
