Sheeleigh scores twice; named Ivy League Player of the Week

Junior Katherine Sheeleigh scored two goals including the game-winning tally in the 87th minute on Saturday (Oct. 31) to lead the Harvard women’s soccer team to a 2-1 win over Dartmouth. With the win, the Crimson (8-6-1; 5-1 Ivy League) earn at least a share of the Ivy League title and the automatic bid to the NCAA Championships.

It is Harvard’s second straight Ivy League title and ninth overall. Sheeleigh, who was named Ivy Player of the Week, connected on her fourth game-winner of the season and 10th of her career. The goal came when Sheeleigh accepted a pass from Kerry Kartsonis ’11 on the right side of the net.
