Women’s golf team takes Dartmouth Invitational

The Harvard women’s golf team opened up its 2007 season with a first-place finish at the Dartmouth Invitational this past weekend (Sept. 15-16) to top the field of 14 teams. After shooting a day-one score of 302 for a 23-stroke edge over Brown and Sacred Heart, the Crimson tallied a 301 in round two to finish at 603 overall and 42 shots better than runner-up Siena College.

Junior Ali Bode paced the Harvard effort after shooting 74 and 73 in rounds one and two, respectively. Still, Hayley Milbourn of Amherst managed to eclipse Bode by a single shot with a total score of 146.

All told, five Harvard golfers finished in the top eight spots, including Bode, sophomores Claire Sheldon ’10 (76-76-152) and Sarah Harvey ’10 (75-79-154), junior Emily Balmert (78-74-152), and freshman Mia Kabasakalis.
