Police reports
Following are some of the incidents reported to the Harvard University Police Department (HUPD) for the week ending May 28. The official log is located at 1033 Massachusetts Ave., sixth floor, and is available online athttp://www.hupd.harvard.edu/.
May 24: Graffiti was reported at 8 Story St. Harassing phone calls and e-mails were reported received at Eliot House. A bicycle was reported stolen from the Science Center.
May 26: Two bicycles were reported stolen from the New Research Building. At North Harvard Street and Soldiers Field Road, officers assisted the Boston Police and Fire departments with a vehicle fire. A laptop was reported stolen from the School of Dental Medicine.
May 27: Two unattended laptops were reported stolen from Currier House Dining Hall and Mather House.
May 28: Officers observed three individuals acting suspiciously near the bike rack of Harvard Hall. Officers heard the sound of a cable being snapped and observed one of the individuals putting an object into their backpack. After being questioned, the individual handed over the backpack to the officers, who observed a pair of bolt cutters inside. The individual was run for warrants with negative results and issued a trespass warning for all Harvard property. The individual then attempted to get onto a bicycle. The officers advised the individual that the bicycle was going to be confiscated and impounded until the individual could provide proof of ownership.
