Police reports

Following are some of the incidents reported to the Harvard University Police Department for the week ending Feb. 27. The official log is located at 1033 Massachusetts Ave., sixth floor, and is available online at http://www.hupd.harvard.edu/.

Feb. 22: Officers assisted the Cambridge Police Department (CPD) with a motor vehicle accident at Memorial Drive and DeWolfe Street. An unattended backpack was reported stolen from the Spangler Building. A video projector was reported stolen from 1230 Soldiers Field Road.

Feb. 23: An officer was dispatched to Eliot House to take a report of a broken glass panel in an exterior door. Officers were dispatched to 65 N. Harvard St. on a report of a possible armed robbery that had just occurred. The Boston Police Department was also notified. A search of the area proved negative. Sensor switches were reported stolen from the Warren Alpert Building.

Feb. 24: Officers were dispatched to William James Hall on a report of a suspicious individual in the building. Officers arrived and ran the individual for warrants with negative results. The individual was placed under arrest for trespassing. Officers were dispatched to Quincy House on a report of an individual acting suspiciously in the building. Officers arrived and located the individual who was behaving in an aggressive and threatening manner. While attempting to identify the individual, the individual assaulted one of the officers. The individual was then subdued and it was determined that the individual was under the influence of drugs. The individual was transported to the hospital for evaluation, and complaints will be sought against the individual. While conducting an investigation into the above-mentioned incident, officers spoke with an additional individual who was found to be in possession of illegal substances. This individual was placed under arrest for drug law violation near a school/park, for possessing a class D substance, and for possessing a class B substance with intent to distribute.

Feb. 25: A bicycle was reported stolen from Peabody Terrace. At 1 Story St., an officer assisted CPD with an individual in need of medical assistance. An unattended bag of clothing was reported stolen from Blodgett Pool.

Feb. 27: An unattended Armani coat was reported stolen from the Spangler Building. Parts to a printer were reported stolen at Gund Hall.

Since Feb. 22, two debit cards, a DVD player, and three laptops have been reported stolen. There have also been three reports of harassing, threatening, or annoying behavior.
