Police Log

Following are some of the incidents reported to the Harvard University Police Department (HUPD) for the weeks ending June 17, June 24, July 1, and July 8. The official log is located at Police Headquarters, 29 Garden St.

June 11: Several items were reported missing from a room in Mather House.

June 12: A bicycle was stolen at the Naito Chemistry Lab. A bicycle was stolen from Soldiers Field Park.

June 13: A caller reported the theft of $3,000 worth of equipment from the Dental School.

June 14: Three juveniles were issued trespass warnings at Harvard Hall after they were found to be checking out the bike rack with tools in their possession. An individual on Oxford Street was arrested on a warrant. A radar detector was reported stolen from a car on Western Avenue. A jacket was stolen from the Malkin Athletic Center. A wallet was stolen at the Science Center.

June 15: An individual reported receiving multiple harassing phone calls. A bicycle was reported stolen from the Medical Education Center. A bicycle was stolen at Canaday Hall

June 16: A caller reported that several items were stolen from her apartment on Fernald Drive.

June 19: A caller reported spray paint on the Quincy House. A wallet was reported stolen at Coolidge Hall. A victim reported the theft of several bags at 8 Story St. An officer reported a laptop computer taken at Leverett House.

June 20: A caller stated that unknown person(s) had taken cash from her wallet at the School of Public Health 4 Xavier Building. A bicycle was stolen at 260 Longwood. Officers were dispatched to Pennypacker Hall on a loud music complaint. Occupants stated that they would close the windows and quiet down.

June 21: A caller reported that unknown person(s) had taken his wallet from Chase Hall. A caller reported that a party had their pocketbook stolen from the Holyoke Arcade. A caller reported youths on exterior ramp of the Carpenter Center throwing rocks at light fixtures. Officers stopped six youths who were issued trespass warnings and sent on their way.

June 22: A caller reported the theft of a laptop computer from their office at the Warren Alpert Building. A caller reported the theft of his wallet and contents from Malkin Athletic Center.

June 23: Officer took a report of a stolen computer at 200 Longwood Ave.

June 25: A caller reported that their radio was stolen from the gym at Shad Hall.

June 27: A caller reported the theft of three chain saws and a lawnmower from Dunbar Labs. Officers reported graffiti on Murr Center. A caller reported that during a power outage unknown person(s) took her credit cards from her wallet at Colling House. Officers responded on a report that someone entered a Canaday Hall dormitory room and stole U.S. currency and a key.

June 28: A caller reported two credit cards and $60 were taken from SPH 4 Xavier Building.

June 29: Caller reported the theft of his wallet from the Malkin Athletic Center. A caller reported his wallet was stolen from the basketball court at the Malkin Athletic Center.

June 30: A caller reported the past theft of her wallet from Holyoke Center.

July 1: A party stated their bicycle was stolen from bike rack in front of Gund Hall.

July 3: A caller reported the larceny of her secured bicycle at Gund Hall. While on patrol, an officer discovered graffiti on the wall by Johnston Gate at Harvard Yard A person called to report their bike missing from the Vanserg Building. A bicycle was stolen from Child Hall.

July 4: A caller stated he observed two males trying to steal

bicycles at the Boylston Hall side of Widener Library. Units searched the area with negative results. Unknown persons forcibly entered Rosovsky Hall. Officer dispatched and reports filed. An officer took a report of a stolen computer monitor taken out of the Engineering and Science Center building.

July 5: A caller reported her bag stolen from Langdell Hall. A caller stated that he was just robbed at gunpoint by two males in front of Mather House. HUPD units dispatched and Cambridge police notified. Personal property taken. Suspects described as two black males, 13-20 years of age, 5 feet 7 inches to 5 feet 8 inches tall, both had dark complexions, one wearing jeans with a black jacket, one possibly wearing jeans with a plaid shirt and a bandana.

July 7: A caller stated a male was attempting to break into the rear door of the Harvard Advocate. Units dispatched. The male was stopped and arrested.
