Harvard Heroes honored for exceptional work

1 min read

President Drew Faust led Harvard University in honoring staff members who made outstanding contributions during the past year at the Harvard Heroes celebration in mid-June. The program recognizes individuals and teams nominated by colleagues for exceptional effort in an array of disciplines.

Members of the Harvard community, family, and friends participated in a ceremony in Sanders Theatre followed by a festive reception in Annenberg Hall. During the ceremony, which included a multimedia presentation, honorees received personal acknowledgement from the president and raucous cheers from the audience.

Harvard Heroes was created in 1993 to acknowledge exceptional individual performance within the office of the Vice President for Administration. Over time, the event has expanded to include the entire University. The newest participants include the Harvard Kennedy School and the Radcliffe Institute for Advanced Study.
