Police reports
Following are some of the incidents reported to the Harvard University Police Department for the week ending Dec. 5. The official log is located at 1033 Massachusetts Ave., sixth floor, and is available online at http://www.hupd.harvard.edu/.
Dec. 1: An officer assisted the Cambridge Police Department with a motor vehicle accident at 8 Garden St. A laptop was reported stolen from Phillips Brooks House. Officers were dispatched to a report of a suspicious individual lying in the bushes at Hilles Library. As the subject was approached, he got up waving a three-inch knife. The individual was ordered to the ground, run for warrants with positive results, and taken into custody for assault with a deadly weapon, disorderly conduct, and warrant service. An officer took a report of a past indecent exposure at 175 N. Harvard St.
Dec. 2: A video camera and a microphone were reported stolen from Longfellow Hall.
Dec. 5: A window was reported damaged at 175 N. Harvard St. An officer was dispatched to Andover Library to take a report of a stolen checkbook and a check that was cashed in the amount of $485. Officers were dispatched to the Kennedy School on a report of an individual causing a disturbance. Officers ran the individual for warrants with positive results before arresting the suspect for warrant service. A package valued at $200 was reported stolen from Peabody Terrace.
Since Dec. 1, three bicycles have been reported stolen. There have also been four reports of suspicious or harassing letters, telephone calls, or voicemails.
