Student Internship Fund holds auction

1 min read

A weeklong vacation in Mexico, box-seat tickets for the Red Sox, and an Apple iPod are just a handful of the items up for bid at this year’s Student Internship Fund (SIF) auction at the Kennedy School of Government. The event will be held today (Dec. 2) at the John F. Kennedy Jr. Forum (79 JFK St.). The silent auction runs from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., and the live auction begins at 7:30 p.m.

The fund provides grants to students for summer internships, allowing students to take positions with low-paying or no-paying nonprofit or public organizations.

The auction will also feature a raffle with items such as two roundtrip airline tickets to Europe, an IBM ThinkPad, and a digital camera. Raffle tickets can be purchased at the auction for $5 each or five for $20.

Some of the other auction items include a week at a Florida beach house, lunch with Chris Matthews from MSNBC’s “Hardball,” and a tour of ABC News world headquarters in New York City.
