Police reports
Following are some of the incidents reported to the Harvard University Police Department (HUPD) for the week ending Sept. 27. The official log is located at 1033 Massachusetts Ave., sixth floor.
Sept. 20: A defibrillator was reported stolen from Newell Boathouse. On Jarvis Street, an officer responded to a report of two people possibly trying to sell narcotics to a third person. Officers spoke to the suspects and checked them for warrants with positive results on one of them. Officers issued both individuals trespass warnings for all University property and arrested one for warrant service and possession to distribute a class D substance.
Sept. 21: Officers were dispatched to the area of Plympton and Mount Auburn streets on a report of an indecent assault and battery. The victim reported that she was groped from behind. A search of the area for the suspect was negative. An unattended book bag and book were reported stolen from Annenberg Hall.
Sept. 22: An IBM ThinkPad and carrying case were reported stolen at Currier House. Officers were dispatched to the area of 72 Kirkland St. on the report of an indecent assault and battery. The victim reported that a male groped her from behind. A search of the area for the suspect proved negative. One credit card, an ATM card, and $20 were reported stolen from a purse at Robinson Hall. A pocketbook containing cash, credit cards, and keys was reported stolen from Gund Hall. Officers were dispatched to the Harvard Institute of Medicine on a report of an assault. Upon arrival, officers determined that an assault had taken place and arrested one person for domestic assault. Officers and the Cambridge Police Department were dispatched to Canaday Hall to speak to a student who had witnessed an open and gross incident on Kennedy Street. The student reported that a vehicle approached and the driver was exposing himself. A report was filed.
Sept. 23: Cash was reported stolen at Gordon Hall. A cell phone was reported stolen at 18 Banks St.
Sept. 24: Tools were reported stolen from Gund Hall. Money from a wallet was reported stolen at Sever Hall.
Sept. 26: Officers were dispatched to 52 Mount Auburn St. on a report of vandalism in progress. The caller reported that while parked in a van, an individual damaged the vehicle’s rear doors. Officers located the individual and placed the individual under arrest for destruction of property and disorderly conduct. A scooter was reported stolen at 44 Bow St. A bicycle seat was reported stolen from Canaday Hall. A digital camera was reported stolen from Hurlbut Hall.
Sept. 27: A report of a stolen pocketbook was filed at HUPD headquarters. A cell phone was reported stolen at Phillips Brooks House.
Since Sept. 20, four bags, seven bicycles, five laptops, and six wallets have been reported stolen. There have been two reports of suspicious e-mail received and three harassing phone calls.
