Police reports
Following are some of the incidents reported to the Harvard University Police Department for the week ending April 17. The official log is located at 1033 Massachusetts Ave., sixth floor.
April 11: Two individuals who were reportedly assaulted on Linden Street flagged down an officer. The Cambridge Police Department (CPD) was notified and responded to University Health Services to take a report. A report of vandalism was filed at Currier House. Officers were dispatched to Lowell House to take a report of vandalism involving a parking sign.
April 12: Damage to a ramp gate in the rear of Pierce Hall was reported. A computer monitor was reported stolen at the Taubman Center. A projector was reported stolen at Sever Hall. An officer was dispatched to Gund Hall to take a report of cash taken from a wallet. A laptop was reported stolen at Fairfax Hall. An officer was dispatched to take a report of an incident that occurred in the morning hours of April 11 involving an individual who had exposed himself and was masturbating at the corner of Memorial Drive and Kennedy Street. Massachusetts State Police (MSP) was notified to take a report.
April 13: A backpack was reported stolen at Johnston Gate.
April 14: An officer was dispatched to the Botanic Gardens to take a report of a vehicle being broken into and tools removed. Microphones were reported stolen at Cotting House. A hydrochloric acid spill was reported at the Science Center. The Cambridge Fire Department and Environmental Health & Safety were notified and responded. No injuries were reported and Triumvirate Environmental responded to complete cleanup. Graffiti was reported in the basement of 6 Ash St.
April 15: Officers were dispatched to Claverly Hall on a report of an assault. Officers searched the area with negative results and a report was taken. A laptop was reported stolen at Shannon Hall. An officer was dispatched to the Harvard Parking Office to take a report of a larceny. Two IBM docking stations were reported stolen at Hawes Hall. Larceny from a motor vehicle was reported at 33 Elmwood Ave.
April 16: An officer was dispatched to the Science Center to take a report of a past larceny of construction equipment. Graffiti was reported at the Medical Education Center. A bicycle was reported stolen at 28 Fernald Drive. At Weeks Bridge, officers assisted MSP with a report of indecent exposure. Party was located and complaints will be sought by MSP.
April 17: Officers were dispatched on a report of a motor vehicle accident. CPD arrested the driver for operating under the influence. The car destroyed a tree on Broadway.
Since April 11, five wallets have been reported stolen. There have also been four reports of harassing/suspicious e-mail or phone calls.
