Heaney wins Capote Award

Ralph Waldo Emerson Poet in Residence Seamus Heaney has received the 2003 Truman Capote Award for Literary Criticism for his work “Finders Keepers: Selected Prose 1971-2001” (Farrar, Straus and Giroux, 2002). The $50,000 award – administered by the University of Iowa Writers’ Workshop – is the largest annual cash prize for literary criticism in the English language.
