HUCTW to host ‘family’ open house

1 min read

In conjunction with the Harvard Union of Clerical and Technical Workers’ (HUCTW’s) recent online housing survey, an open house will be held May 17 for members of the Harvard community to learn about affordable housing. The event, which will run from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Middle East Restaurant in Central Square, marks the union’s first housing-related open house and coincides with HUCTW’s 15th anniversary. Kid-friendly, the open house will feature music and art projects like paper origami. The 6-foot-tall HUCTW “Home in Our Range” sculpture – an art project showcasing some union members’ housing stories – will also be on display. Through photographs and interviews, the sculpture provides an interesting look at people in the Harvard community, why they live where they live, and how they got there.
