In brief
CSWR summer grants available
The Center for the Study of World Religions at Harvard Divinity School has announced that it is now accepting applications for its 2003 summer grants, which may be used to fund research, language study, or internships in religion. Harvard juniors and graduate students who are enrolled in full-time degree programs with a primary focus on the study of religious phenomena are eligible to apply.
Students whose research touches on religion and the arts, globalization, health and healing, and “the city,” are particularly encouraged to apply.
Base award amounts will be $2,000 to $3,000. CSWR may also award “supplemental grants” of $1,000 to $2,000 each to winners of base awards whose proposals are deemed exceptional.
The application deadline is March 14. Forms are available at http://www.hds.harvard.edu/cswr. For more information, contact Keith Brown, coordinator of fellowship programs, at (617) 496-5834.
Poster day registration
Faculty and students of the Harvard School of Public Health (SPH) are invited to participate in the 17th annual Poster and Exhibit Day, to be held March 13 in the Kresge Building cafeteria. Prepared by students or by a team including students, the posters and exhibits offer the SPH community an opportunity to learn more about the research and service activities being carried out at the School. The best posters will be eligible for a $500 prize.
Space is limited, so early registration is recommended. To sign up, visit the Web site at http://www.hsph.harvard.edu/academicaffairs/posterday/pd2003.htm. The registration deadline is Feb. 28.
