Faculty Council Notice for Oct. 24

At its third meeting of the year, the Faculty Council met with deans Susan Pedersen (history and undergraduate education), Jeffrey Wolcowitz (economics and undergraduate education), and Deborah Foster (folklore and mythology and undergraduate education), and with Professor William Fash (anthropology), chair of the faculty’s Standing Committee on Out-of-Residence Study, to discuss the study abroad program in Harvard College.

The council also received an update from deans Nancy Maull (executive dean) and Geoffrey Peters (administrative resources) on the adaptations of the University’s employment practices, as governed by the Fair Labor Standards Act.

The second faculty meeting of the year will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 13. The preliminary docket deadline for that meeting is at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 29. The Rules of Faculty Procedure and other information about faculty meetings can be found at http://www.fas.harvard.edu/~secfas/.
