Women sprint and hurdle to victory while men go the distance

The Harvard men’s and women’s track teams defeated Northeastern at the Gordon Track and Tennis Center on Saturday, Jan. 6. The women’s squad, led by Captain Brenda Taylor with wins in the 60- and 200-meter hurdles, beat the Huskies 95-30.

Team captain Marna Schutte ’01 (above left) leads the pack on her way to a win in the women’s 400 meter run against Northeastern. She also placed 3rd in the 200.

Distance races carried the men’s contingent, as they swept the 1000-meter run, the mile, and the two-mile relay. The men’s team won 75-70.
