Police Log

Following are some of the incidents reported to the Harvard University Police Department for the week ending May 20. The official log is located at Police Headquarters, 29 Garden St.

May 14: A backpack containing law books was stolen from the Cabot Library. A bicycle was stolen at Dudley House.

May 15: A wallet was stolen at Cabot Library. A laptop computer was stolen at Lyman Lab. A cell phone was stolen at Adams House. A wallet was stolen at Malkin Athletic Center.

May 16: A wallet was stolen at the Belfer Center. A caller reported a bomb threat via a home answering machine in the Holden Green complex.

May 17: An unattended backpack was stolen at Lyman Lab; the backpack was found later in a men’s room.

A strong smell of gas was reported at 34 Kirkland St. University Operations Services staff was notified. The area was checked and no problem was found. A strong smell of gas was also reported on Divinity Ave. and at 1737 Cambridge; those areas were checked.

May 18: A backpack containing a laptop computer, wallet, and personal items was stolen at Cabot Library. A camera was stolen at Annenberg Hall.

May 19: A bicycle was stolen at Lowell House. A leather coat was stolen at 8 Prescott St. A backpack was stolen from Cabot Library. A bag was stolen at the Fairchild Biochemistry Building. A wallet and set of keys were stolen from the computer lab at Littauer.

May 20: Caller reported vandalism to chalk boards in the basement, and on the first and third floors of Perkins Hall; an officer took a report.
