The committee adopted its report by a vote of 18 to 1. Chaired by Sidney Verba, Carl H. Pforzheimer University Professor and director of the University Library, the committee included faculty members drawn from each of the Universitys Schools, including five from the Faculty of Arts and Sciences (FAS), two undergraduates appointed by the Undergraduate Council, and three graduate students appointed by the FAS and University-wide Graduate Student Councils.
