If you have a set of at least 20 events to submit to the Gazette calendar, you may find it easier to have us do a bulk upload for you. This page explains the requirements for bulk uploads of your event data.

File formats

Your bulk submission must be in Comma Separated Values (CSV) format. We recommend that you save your file as a CSV before entering any information since converting from XLSX can convert punctuation and non-standard Latin characters into incoherent symbols.

Fields to include in your data

Field labels and values are case- and number-sensitive. Your fields must match those below, as must “Gazette Classification” values.

The following fields are required:

  • Description
  • Location
  • Start Date
  • Start Time
  • Event Type (must be set to “Harvard Event” for each event)
  • Gazette Classification
  • End Time
  • End Date

Your events may also optionally include these fields:

  • Organization/Sponsor
  • Speaker(s)
  • Directed By
  • Written By
  • Cost
  • Ticket Web Link
  • Ticket Info
  • Contact Info
  • Web Link
  • Notes

If submitting in csv format, your file must have a header row, with the fields labeled as above.

Permitted values

The only allowed value for the “Event Type” field is “Harvard Event”.

Allowed values for the “Gazette Classification” field are:
