Rain-soaked Crimson defeat Brown in OT

There wasn’t enough rain falling from the sky to stop the Harvard field hockey team on Saturday (Oct. 3) as the Crimson (4-4; 1-2 Ivy League) took down the Brown Bears (3-6; 0-3 Ivy League) in overtime, by a score of 4-3.

Junior forward Chloe Keating, who had two goals on the day, notched her eighth of the season in the sudden-death overtime when Keating beat her defender and found the back of the net for the game’s final goal in the 72nd minute.

Keating, who leads Harvard in scoring, also leads the team with five assists and 21 points. The goal was her third game-winner of the season.

Saturday’s win snapped a four-game losing streak for Harvard — which despite starting the season 3-0, struggled in the second half of September.

Harvard invites UMass to Jordan Field on tonight (Oct. 6) at 6 p.m., followed by Michigan on Saturday (Oct. 10) at noon.
