Emerald walks, Sox tickets up for bid at auction

2 min read

A walking tour of Dublin and a pair of Red Sox tickets are just two of the items up for bid at the annual Summer Internship Fund auction scheduled for today (Dec. 6) at the Kennedy School of Government (KSG). The silent auction, featuring dozens of items, will begin at 5:30 p.m., followed by a live auction.

All proceeds from the auction will enable KSG students to pursue unpaid public service internships in the summer of 2008. These internships provide invaluable opportunities for students to develop their skills, contribute to communities locally and globally, and acquire a taste for public service employment.

Some of this year’s auction items include a weeklong vacation retreat in Wales; a visit to the set of “Sesame Street” in New York City; lunch for two with former Federal Reserve Board chairman Paul Volker; a day with the Barack Obama campaign team in New Hampshire; a weeklong stay in a three-bedroom French villa; dinner for six with Dean David Ellwood at his home in Winchester, Mass.; a one-week stay in a bed-and-breakfast in Kenya; and tickets to the holiday Pops concert.

For those not able to attend the auction, bids will be accepted in advance. Visithttp://www.ksg.harvard.edu/sif for further details, or contact Martha Foley at (617) 496-0320.
