Police Reports

Following are some of the incidents reported to the Harvard University Police Department (HUPD) for the week ending Aug. 21. The official log is located at 1033 Massachusetts Ave., sixth floor, and is available online at http://www.hupd.harvard.edu/.

July 14: An officer was dispatched to the Holyoke Center to take a report of stolen paperwork.

July 15: Officers assisted the Massachusetts State Police with a motor vehicle stop at Memorial Drive and Flagg Street. The driver was placed under arrest by the state police for driving while under the influence of alcohol.

July 16: Two windows were reported vandalized at the Blackstone Steam Plant.

July 17: Two coolers and pieces of linen were reported stolen from Radcliffe Yard. Damage was reported to a motor vehicle at the Murr Center.

July 18: A leather case containing $10 and an ID card was reported stolen from the Science Center.

July 21: A window at the Dental School was reported vandalized. At the Pound Building, an individual was placed under arrest for trespassing.

July 24: Two unsecured stereo speakers were reported stolen from the American Repertory Theatre. An officer took a report of ongoing acts of vandalism at the Harvard Stem Cell Institute administrative offices.

July 25: At South and John F. Kennedy streets, an officer took a report of a past assault involving two individuals who knew one another. The Cambridge Police Department was notified of the incident.

July 26: Officers were dispatched to Quincy House on a report of two individuals placing a bicycle into the back of a vehicle before fleeing the area in the vehicle. The officers pulled the vehicle over and observed a bicycle partially covered with a blanket and a pair of bolt cutters. The reporting party then approached the suspects and officers and positively identified the stolen bicycle as theirs. The two suspects were then placed under arrest for larceny over $250.

July 30: An officer issued a trespass warning to an individual who was observed taking a bicycle from a rack at 111 Western Ave. Officer also advised the individual that complaints would be sought against them.

July 31: At the Pound Building, officers conducted a field interview with a suspicious individual. Following a search for wants and warrants, the individual was placed under arrest for having an outstanding warrant.

Aug. 1: Damage to a parking arm was reported at the Broadway Garage.

Aug. 3: At 14 Everett St. an individual was placed under arrest for trespassing.

Aug. 4: An officer was dispatched to the Sailing Center to take a report of the fraudulent use of a credit card.

Aug. 5: At William James Hall, an individual was placed under arrest for trespassing.

Aug. 7: A juvenile was placed under arrest for trespassing and larceny over $250 after attempting to steal a bicycle from Cabot House. Officers were dispatched to an intrusion alarm at Kittredge Hall. During a search of the building, officers located an individual known to the officers standing in the hallway. The individual was placed under arrest for nighttime breaking and entering and trespassing.

Aug. 10: An ATM card and keys were reported stolen from the Biology Lab. At Johnston Gate, officers arrested an individual known to HUPD for warrant service.

Aug. 11: A duffle bag containing several personal items valued at $756 was reported stolen from Peabody Terrace.

Aug. 13: A backpack with contents valued at $186 was reported stolen from the Science Center.

Since July 14, 48 bicycles, three cell phones, two desktop computers, three digital cameras, five laptops, two MP3 players, one motorcycle, and 16 wallets have been reported stolen. There have been five reports of harassing or annoying phone calls/e-mail.
