Golf struggles at Ivy champs
Harvard's men's and women's golf teams finished eighth and sixth, respectively, in Ivy League championship action this past weekend (April 16-17). The men turned in one of their best performances of the season in the final round on Sunday at Ballyowen Golf Club in Hamburg, N.J., scoring 298 to keep pace with the field. The strong finish failed to remedy Harvard's shaky start, however - a tournament-high 319 strokes in the first round on Saturday. Princeton, meanwhile, shot two under par to capture its second straight title.
In women's action at Maidstone Golf Club in East Hampton, N.Y., the Crimson shot a combined 366 in the third and final round to card 1,086 (369-351-366). The tally landed Harvard five swings ahead of seventh-place Dartmouth.
Princeton overwhelms LAX
The Princeton women's lacrosse team cooked up a dozen first-half goals to scorch visiting Crimson, 21-12, this past Saturday afternoon (April 16). With the loss, Harvard stays winless in Ancient Eight action, falling to 0-3 (2-9 overall).
