Police reports

Following are some of the incidents reported to the Harvard University Police Department (HUPD) for the week ending Jan. 31. The official log is located at 1033 Massachusetts Ave., sixth floor.

Jan. 24: HUPD officers and the Cambridge Fire Department (CFD) were dispatched to Conant Laboratory on a report of a fire. The fire, caused by an accidental chemical mixture, was extinguished.

Jan. 26: Several harassing e-mails were reported received at Paine Music Hall. A pair of computer speakers was reported stolen at the New Research Building.

Jan. 27: An officer was dispatched to a report of an individual in possession of a stolen University parking permit at 1583 Massachusetts Ave. The officer and parking supervisor confiscated the permit and escorted the individual off the property. An unattended backpack with contents valued at $70 was reported stolen at Boylston Hall.

Jan. 28: An officer was dispatched to the School of Dental Medicine to take a report of an attempt to deposit two checks into a false account. Wallets were reported stolen from the Taubman Center and 124 Mt. Auburn St.

Jan. 29: Officers assisted the Boston Police Department in the search for a suspect wanted in connection with an armed robbery in the area of 198 Western Ave.

Jan. 30: Officers were dispatched to 44 Bow St. on a report of a fight. CPD was notified and took over the scene. A cabinet was reported damaged at Gund Hall.

Jan. 31: A cell phone was reported stolen from the Kennedy School. Officers and the CFD were dispatched to 8 Plympton St. on a report of a fire alarm. A small fire located on the stovetop of an unoccupied room was extinguished. An officer was dispatched to 20 Prescott St. to take a report of a larceny of a security deposit for an apartment rental.
