Memorial services set for Cox, Knight, Holzman, and Thorn

Cox to be remembered on Oct. 8

A memorial service for former Harvard Law School Professor Archibald Cox will be held on Oct. 8 at 2 p.m. in the Memorial Church. Cox died this past May. He was 92.

Knight service set for Oct. 12

A memorial service for Gweneth A.F. Knight, a member of the collections subcommittee for the Department of Islamic and Later Indian Art at the Fogg Art Museum, will be held Oct. 12 at 5 p.m. at the Memorial Church. Knight was a Fogg Fellow and an International Fellow. A reception will follow at the Fogg Art Museum.

Thorn memorial service on Oct. 18

A memorial service for Hersey Professor of the Theory and Practice of Medicine George W. Thorn will be held Oct. 18 at 4:30 p.m. in Bornstein Amphitheater, Brigham and Women's Hospital. Thorn was the Samuel A. Levine Professor of Medicine Emeritus. A reception in Cabot Atrium will follow the service.

Holzman service set for Oct. 23

A memorial celebration honoring the life of Philip S. Holzman will be held on Oct. 23 at 1 p.m. at the American Academy of Arts and Sciences. Holzman, who died on June 1, was the Esther and Sidney R. Rabb Professor of Psychology Emeritus, and professor of psychology in the Department of Psychiatry, emeritus. A reception will follow.
