In brief

Give a pint, get a pint

The first Harvard University Blood Drive of the academic year continues today (Sept. 30) from noon to 6 p.m., and Friday (Oct. 1) from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Loker Commons. Interested donors can call 1-800-GIVE-LIFE, or visit http://www.bloodpartners.org/harvard to sign up.

In addition to helping to sustain an adequate blood supply, all donors presenting to give a pint of blood will receive a coupon for a free pint of Ben and Jerry's ice cream.

Extension School to hold career forum

The Harvard Extension School is hosting an interactive discussion group for students considering a career in politics on Oct. 6 at 5:30 p.m. Massachusetts State Rep. and former Mayor of Cambridge Alice Wolf, and state Sen. Jarrett Barrios will discuss their experiences and insights as elected officials and public servants. The hour-long forum will be held in Sever Hall, room 113.

Enroll now for new MBTA pass program

Current MBTA pass holders are reminded to enroll online for the new MBTA pass program. By registering online (through Oct. 1 for the November pass), MBTA passes will be mailed directly to your home address. And because payment will be through pretax payroll deduction, you will save even more money on top of Harvard's subsidy. All present MBTA pass holders can register at http://www.commuterchoice.harvard.edu.

Please note that all October T passes must be purchased (in the last three days of September) at Holyoke Center, the Longwood Medical Area Parking Office, or at Teele Hall.
