Faculty Council notice for Sept. 22
At its first meeting of the year the Faculty Council heard a report on the Harvard College Curricular Review from Deans William Kirby (history and FAS) and Benedict Gross (mathematics and Harvard College). The Council also considered, with Dean Peter Ellison (anthropology and GSAS), a proposed Ph.D. program in Systems Biology. Professor Marc Kirschner, chair of Harvard Medical School's Department of Systems Biology, was present for this discussion.
Finally, the council elected the Docket Committee, composed of Professors Julie Buckler (Slavic languages and literatures), Stuart Shieber (Division of Engineering and Applied Sciences), and Laurel Thatcher Ulrich (history), and nominated Professor Thomas Kelly (music) to serve as parliamentarian.
The council next meets on Sept. 29.
